This past fall, during the Season of Creation, Holy Name started a Climate Action Group, where parishioners are able to discuss individual and collective action we can take to protect and care for the environment.
One of the first initiatives that came out of these conversations was the "Green Christmas" poster.
A Holy Nameparishioner researched ways to make the holidays more environmentally friendly, and teamed up with a local graphic designer to design the poster and make it attractive. The reverse side of the poster lists many local resources (links, stores, non-profit organizations) to help make this Christmas season greener. The parish and a generous donor helped fund the printing of the poster which was handed out after mass, and made available at the local library and other spots in the neighbourhood.
The Holy Name Climate Action Group hopes that it will inspire Christians to make more environmentally friendly choices this Advent and Christmas. The poster is free to print/share/post and you can download the file here.
